LFAC Opened in 2016 in Suttons Bay, MI to provide quality foot and ankle treatment to the residents of Leelanau County and to the surrounding area. Our clinic has a fully digital x-ray system onsite with radiographic results available instantly. LFAC offers same-day emergency appointments when treatment cannot wait. Minor procedures are performed onsite however Dr. Miller does retain surgical privileges at Munson Medical Center, Traverse City, and Northwest Michigan Surgery Center for more involved cases that require sedation. We stock a variety of sizes and styles of removable cast boots and braces at the clinic thus avoiding a trip to Traverse City for proper immobilization. We offer EPAT treatment onsite to treat cases of plantar fasciitis and tendonitis that have not responded to medical treatment, learn more about EPAT here. LFAC offers Saturday appointments on a limited and first available basis.
Dr. Sarah Miller obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Her podiatric medical degree was obtained from the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University as a Merit Scholarship Recipient. While pursuing her medical degree, Dr. Miller was actively involved with tutoring her peers and volunteering. Following medical school she completed her surgical residency at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago, IL. Her training involved both surgical and non-surgical management of a broad spectrum of foot and ankle pathology. Highlights of her training include complex lower extremity deformity correction, diabetic limb salvage, reconstructive rearfoot and ankle procedures, treatment of traumatic foot and ankle injuries and management of pediatric foot and ankle pathology. Dr. Miller was Chief Resident during her final year of residency. Dr. Miller is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine.
Though she is well trained surgically, Dr. Miller emphasizes a conservative and non-invasive treatment approach with initial treatment of her patients. While not all foot and ankle problems can be treated conservatively, Dr. Miller makes every effort to ensure surgery is not performed unless conservative treatment has failed.
Dr. Miller is a native of Southeast Michigan but has enjoyed making Northwest Michigan her home. In her personal time, Dr. Miller enjoys an active lifestyle with her family, friends and two dogs.
